The one that didn't get away . . .

Tuesday 19th February 2019 (Day 15).

Today we got up extremely early again (by now we're used to it) to go swimming in wild hot springs.  They were fantastic, like a really refreshing hot bath.  There were three pools: one medium temperature, one just over lukewarm, and one that was so hot that even Mum, who loves sizzling baths hesitated!

On our way to breakfast we saw our 4th of the Big 5, a… Leopard.  It was beautiful.

A giant breakfast and a game drive was all it took to get us back to the camp where I tried to recall all the fives.  Green 5:  Elephant Grass, Leopard Orchid, Lions Paw, Rhino lips, and Buffalo thorn.  Small 5:  Elephant Shrew, Leopard Tortoise, Ant Lion, Rhino Beetle, and white-headed Buffalo Weaver.  Shy 5:  Aardwolf, Bat eared Fox, Porcupine, Aardvark, Meer cat.  Big 5:  Elephant, Leopard, Rhino, Lion, Buffalo.  Ugly 5:  Hyena, Marabou Stalk, Warthog, Wildebeest and Vulture or Hippo (its debated).   And, invented by me and Dad, the Beautiful 5:  Leopard, Secretary Bird, Giraffe, Impala and Zebra.

Lunch and relax was next (both delicious) and well deserved.  Me and Dad even played Bow - a native Zanzibarian game, which takes hours to finish especially when your opponent is constantly texting.

After that our parties split up. Jo and Kelty went to the Marsh hide.  They saw three elephants and I went fishing with a guide called Francis, who has been working here for 20 years.  Last but certainly not least I caught a 1ft long mud catfish.  YAY!!

More photos to follow and videos of a leopard and impalas when we get better internet.
