Island Hopping
First
stop Papaya beach, an unusual name for a beach harbouring not only no papaya
trees but also serving not one papaya cocktail salad, mocktail, juice or roast
in its exquisite sand bar. Despite the misleading title, this peaceful
location has all the possible to give you a calm elements and distressed time –
at least when there are not too many tourists. Stop number two Helicopter
Island, we arrived at this tourist – packed destination in immediate regret of
leaving my rucksack and sandals behind on Papaya beach. In order to
resolve this issue, after dropping off one of the crew with us to snorkel, we
sent the boat back to fetch them. Cuttle Fish Television (they changed
colours and chased each other): many, many puffer fish, and massive mesmerizing
butterfly fish also occurred on that heavenly snorkelling area.
Just
when we were about to leave, the realisation hit us that Angel was not about
(he was sleeping on the beach).
The
next episode of our adventure was another beach, which I named Big Wave Beach
(due to its superb surfing), where we saw our first boxfish in 3
years! And a large group of Barracuda. We also rescued
another boat in distress and towed it to Nut Nut beach (our next destination).
We
conjured up ourselves, we were on our way back to Las Cabanas beach when Dad
called to the Captain to halt immediately. We moored and anchored
approximately an enormous limestone cliff with deep rich waters all
around. Dad and I began to snorkel rapidly to the seaward side of
this spectacular island of razor blades, hoping to see some slightly larger
marine life. Success, I glimpsed not a green sea turtle – the ones
that we had seen many times before – but another species, a mystery; most
importantly, angel-fish, baracuda and turtles aside we had an unbelievably
joyful time, therefore, double success.
Last
post’s mystery photograph was: A bright blazing beach candle close up.
Today’s
mystery photograph is…
Ps. My clue about this photograph is a vital yet ill
thought through piece of equipment.
Surfing looks awesome!!
