Late start;...............late finish.

Tuesday 14th May 2019 (Day 90)
A late start, although it doesn’t sound it, is usually a pleasant way to commence the day and makes all activity feel almost as if it were a Sunday, as proven in the latter.
Thankfully I may announce that after one night’s rest subdued to our spanking vehicle my experience tells me that W.o.W. (White on White, the van) is extremely comfortable and cosy; which, today, was entirely necessary for the 30 leagues at minimum of weary, dusty road that lay ahead.

Our drive began with a classical, delicate French countryside view as picturesque as a plane of perfectly trimmed poodles bounding and playing in a vast yet shallow pond blanketed in yellow flowers. After which: a few short breaks, an exceedingly fabulous and may I say rather distressing (due to the great quantities of hunting trophies on display) Shaton with many astonishing paintings and items including the world's most expensive saddle embroidered with 1/4kg of gold and over 100,000 pounds worth of precious and semi-precious gems stolen from an ancient Turkish king in battle only permitted to be sat on by a descendent of (the profit) Mohamed; and Father accusing me of never finishing my tea (although I strongly disagree). We finally arrived at Peter and Deardry’s  (our nex

t door neighbours in Oxford) holiday cottage at 5:30pm where we were to park up for our second night in Europe/France. (Our day, then, ended at midnight)!

Although one of my Parents may repeat this, supper was awesome: potato pie and delicious pasta (generous portions) and PETER AND DEARDRY WERE EXTREMELY MAGNANIMOUS, SELFLESS, AND CHARMING HOSTS ( so if you’re reading, thanks guys) !😇

P.S. I have just added a poem that I recently wrote (with the help of Deardry) to the blogg 'survival in Sapa' - so feel free to check it out.
