Pisa to Lucca
Sunday
20th May 2019 (Day 96)
After a
long stand-off between Mum and I resulting in the collection of a rusty
miniature pool table, started driving at 9am, a surprising time since we only
began our slumber at 1am.
Outward and onward to…
PISA!
To start with, the ancient architecture of this bell tower was
sincerely sublime and characterful plus the lean made it seem almost adjacent
to this whole world. It felt seriously un-sturdy to climb for obvious reasons.
Next stop Lucca, probably the most cheery town that I have ever
set my eyes on. The antique, old city
wall seemed to me a brick coloured bubble only to be burst and burst again by groups
of tourists keen to embrace the peaceful vibes that this imperturbable
mediaeval town emits. Here I played football with another, Indian, travelling
family while Mum and Dad went sight-seeing.
Our arrival in Florence to say the least was certainly well
delayed (Sat Nav’s fault, not ours).
